I: Host is the first part in The New Seed Saga, and tells the story of a a stranger who, upon being put into an induced coma in order to stop the onslaught of a disease, finds themselves able to communicate with the other comatose patients in the institution using a virtual environment. This shared experience manifests as the patients believing themselves to be trees which comprise a great forest. The existing trees in the forest treat the newcomer as a new seed, but do they realise what they represent?
